Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, have announced their separation after 18 years of marriage on August 2, 2023. The couple shares three children: Xavier, 15, Ella-Grace, 14, and Hadrien, 9.

Their decision to separate was based on “meaningful and difficult conversations,” as revealed in a joint statement posted on Instagram. Despite the separation, they intend to remain a close-knit family and co-parent their children.
