Heavy Rains Claim Lives and Cause Damage in Rajasthan Latest News

During the past two days, heavy rainfall caused by a depression, which originated from Cyclone Biparjoy, has wreaked havoc in parts of Rajasthan.Tragically, seven people lost their lives in rain-related incidents, while relief forces managed to rescue 265 individuals.

As a result of the ongoing crisis, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot decided to cancel his planned visits to Bundi, Kota, Jhalawar, and Dausa, opting instead to prioritize visiting the areas affected by the heavy rain.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced a relief of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Delayed Monsoon in India Raises Concerns of Inflation Impact

The Met department has issued an alert for heavy rains in Rajasthan till June 21.

The state government has deployed teams of NDRF and SDRF to rescue people stranded in the affected areas. The government has also set up relief camps in the affected areas.

The heavy rains are a result of a depression over the Bay of Bengal. The depression is likely to move towards Rajasthan and Gujarat in the next few days.
