Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has stated that if the BJP is elected in the upcoming assembly elections next year, they will implement the NRC in the state. Das emphasized the need for the NRC to safeguard the rights of indigenous people in Jharkhand during a rally in Ranchi. He also mentioned that if the BJP assumes power, they will enforce the CAA in the state.
Das made the remarks while addressing a rally in Ranchi on Sunday. He said that the NRC is necessary to protect the rights of indigenous people in Jharkhand. He also said that the BJP will implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state if it comes to power.
The NRC is a list of citizens of India. It was first prepared in Assam in 2019 and has been controversial since its inception. The CAA allows non-Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan to become citizens of India if they can prove that they entered the country before December 31, 2014.
The BJP has been a vocal supporter of the NRC and the CAA. The party has said that these measures are necessary to protect the country’s borders and to ensure that only genuine citizens of India enjoy the benefits of citizenship.
The Congress party, on the other hand, has opposed the NRC and the CAA. The party has said that these measures are discriminatory and that they will create a climate of fear and insecurity among minorities.
