Apple to Open More Stores in India in 2025, 2026, and 2027

According to a report by News Sources, Apple is not looking at any city other than Mumbai and Delhi-NCR for the next stores. The report speculates, while the third store may be in Borivali, Mumbai, the fourth and the second largest store may be located at DLF Promenade Mall, New Delhi. However, the stores are going to be launched in 2025, 2026, and 2027 respectively.

In April, Apple opened its first store in Mumbai BKC, followed by another store inauguration at Saket, Delhi. During the launch, CEO Tim Cook said that he was bullish for India. He also met Prime MInister Narendra Modi, to discuss further investments in the country.


Apple, the tech giant known for its iconic products, is gearing up to expand its retail presence in India. After successfully inaugurating two stores in the country, the company has set its sights on opening more stores in the near future. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is primarily focusing on Mumbai and Delhi-NCR for its upcoming store locations.

    • The report speculates that the third Apple store in India may find its home in Borivali, Mumbai.
    • Additionally, in 2027, the company plans to launch another store in Mumbai, potentially in the scenic Worli area by the seaside.

    • The fourth and largest Apple store is expected to be located at DLF Promenade Mall in New Delhi.

The company has been actively exploring opportunities to increase local production and assembly. With its current stores in Mumbai and Delhi, Apple has already provided employment opportunities to nearly 200 people from various states, showcasing its commitment to local talent and diversity. Apple’s expansion plans align with the trend observed in the industry, as other smartphone giants like Samsung and Xiaomi are also showing interest in manufacturing and retail opportunities in India.

Samsung, for instance, has a substantial factory in Noida capable of producing 120 million units of phones annually. Apple and Samsung are exploring ways to enhance local manufacturing and increase production of various devices, contributing to India’s growth as a manufacturing hub.

Xiaomi, a prominent player in the Indian smartphone market, has also announced plans to boost its local manufacturing capabilities. The company aims to produce wireless audio products in India, and has partnered with Indian assembler Dixon to manufacture smartphones locally. The objective is to meet the growing demand for ‘Made in India’ products and contribute to the government’s “Make In India” initiative.

The Indian smartphone industry is witnessing intense competition, leading to increased production of locally sourced components. In the first quarter of FY2022-23 alone, over 44 million units of ‘Made in India’ smartphones were shipped, indicating a rising demand and a positive outlook for the sector.

As Apple expands its retail footprint in India, it aims to cater to the diverse consumer base and tap into the country’s ever-growing market. The planned store openings in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR reflect the company’s commitment to providing an immersive experience to Indian customers.
