HP Inc. is planning to expand its local manufacturing in India. The company aims to increase both production volume and the range of products manufactured.
Nitin Bansal, senior director of global supply chain at HP Inc., stated that they have been manufacturing in India for a long time and have a significant presence there.
HP intends to produce more products in India, including those that are not currently manufactured in the country. They also aim to scale up their manufacturing operations.
The move aligns with the Indian government’s “Make in India” program, which offers incentives to attract foreign manufacturers. These incentives include tax breaks and duty waivers.
HP plans to take advantage of the government’s incentives and is confident in the growth potential of the Indian market.
Other foreign manufacturers like Apple and Samsung have also announced plans to increase their manufacturing operations in India.
The “Make in India” program has been successful in attracting foreign manufacturers and is expected to continue driving growth in the manufacturing sector and job creation.
