A bus fire in India resulted in the deaths of at least 25 people and left eight others injured early Saturday morning. The incident occurred while the bus was traveling from Yavatmal to Pune in the state of Maharashtra. After colliding with a pole, the bus caught fire, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
In total, the bus was carrying 32 individuals, with the 25 fatalities consisting of adults, including three women. The eight injured individuals are also adults, and they are currently in stable condition.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. on the Samruddhi-Mahamarg Expressway. The bus driver, who survived the accident, explained that the bus hit the pole due to a burst tire. The collision caused the bus to overturn and subsequently ignite.
The flames rapidly spread throughout the bus, trapping many passengers inside. Although the injured passengers managed to escape, unfortunately, the 25 individuals who perished were unable to do so.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the bus was completely destroyed. While the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated, authorities suspect a potential short circuit.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims affected by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with them, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the injured passengers.
