Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the first Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be ready by March 2024.
The Vande Bharat trains are semi-high speed trains that were first introduced in 2022. The trains are capable of running at speeds of up to 160 kmph. The sleeper version will have 22 coaches, 16 sleeper coaches, 3 AC coaches and 3 power cars.
The sleeper coaches in the Vande Bharat trains will be equipped with modern amenities, including Wi-Fi, LED TVs, and charging ports. The trains will also have a pantry car that will serve hot meals to passengers.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat sleeper trains is a welcome development for Indian Railways. The trains will provide passengers with a comfortable and affordable way to travel long distances. The trains are also expected to boost tourism in India.
