In a recent video, YouTuber Techrider conducted a water test on an Ola S1 Pro electric scooter by submerging it in the ocean for several minutes. Surprisingly, the scooter emerged unscathed and was still operational.

However, Ola Electric, the manufacturer of the scooter, has issued a warning against attempting such tests at home. The company emphasizes that the scooter is not designed for water submersion and doing so could void the warranty.

It’s worth noting that the water test was performed in saltwater, which is more corrosive than freshwater. If you do decide to assess the water resistance of your electric scooter, it’s advisable to carry out the test in freshwater and for a shorter duration.

To ensure safe water testing of your electric scooter, here are some essential tips to follow:

  1. Conduct the test in freshwater only.
  2. Avoid submerging the scooter for more than a few minutes.
  3. Thoroughly rinse the scooter with freshwater after the test.
  4. Ensure the scooter is completely dry before using it again.

Additionally, it’s crucial to understand that even if your scooter survives a water test, internal components may still sustain damage. If you have concerns about potential water damage, it is recommended to have your scooter inspected by a qualified technician after conducting any water-related tests.
