Arrogant AAP, opportunistic Congress fail to agree on Bihar poll strategy

A meeting of the opposition parties in Patna took place to discuss the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar. However, the meeting turned sour as the AAP and the Congress traded barbs.

The AAP accused the Congress of being “opportunistic” and trying to “divide the opposition votes.” The Congress retaliated by calling the AAP “arrogant” and unwilling to collaborate with other parties. Consequently, the meeting was adjourned without making any concrete decisions.

Sanjay Singh, the AAP’s Bihar unit chief, criticized the Congress for prioritizing winning elections over working for the people. He accused them of attempting to split the opposition votes by fielding candidates in AAP strongholds.

Tariq Anwar, the Congress’s Bihar in-charge, responded by labeling the AAP as “arrogant” and stated that they were not open to cooperating with other parties. He further criticized the AAP for being a regional party with no pan-India presence.

The sharp exchanges between the AAP and the Congress have raised doubts about the possibility of a united opposition in Bihar.
