Arvind Kejriwal highlighted that the price of petrol in India, despite the recent decline in crude oil costs, is the highest globally. Arvind Kejriwal attributed this to excessive taxation imposed by the government on petrol and diesel. Additionally, he claimed that the government had waived loans worth Rs 11 lakh crore for its associates, contrasting with the difficulties faced by the common people in meeting their financial obligations.

Kejriwal’s critique coincides with a period of significant price hikes in essential commodities. Petrol prices have surpassed Rs 100 per liter in many regions of the country, and food items have also become more expensive. As a result, ordinary individuals are facing financial strains.
