West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained ligament injuries on her left knee and hip joints after her chopper made an emergency landing due to bad weather in Darjeeling district on Tuesday afternoon.
The chopper was carrying Mamata Banerjee from Jalpaiguri to Bagdogra airport when it was forced to land at Sevoke airbase due to heavy rain and gusty winds.
Banerjee was taken to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata for medical treatment.
According to a health bulletin issued by the hospital, Banerjee has a ligament injury and fluid accumulation in her left knee. Additionally, there are marks of ligament injury in her left hip joint. Currently, she is undergoing treatment, and her condition is stable.
