Mitsotakis’s election victory was a landslide. His party, New Democracy, won 158 seats in the 300-seat parliament. The main opposition party, Syriza, only secured 86 seats. This marks the first time New Democracy has won an outright majority since 2004.

Mitsotakis’s victory signifies the Greek people’s desire for change amidst the economic crisis. He has committed to bringing stability and prosperity to Greece, but faces pressure to fulfill these promises.

In his inaugural speech, Mitsotakis expressed his dedication to improving the lives of Greeks. He vowed to rebuild the economy, create jobs, raise wages, and enact significant changes in the education system, healthcare system, and public administration.
