The second meeting of opposition parties will take place in Bengaluru on July 13 and 14. Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party chief, made the announcement on Thursday. Originally planned for Shimla, the venue was changed to Bengaluru due to the monsoon conditions.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, a native of Karnataka, will chair the meeting. The primary agenda will revolve around discussing the strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition parties aim to unite and defeat the BJP in the upcoming general election.
The first meeting of opposition parties occurred in Patna on June 23. More than 30 leaders from 17 parties attended, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav. They resolved to join forces for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, demonstrating flexibility by setting aside their differences.
