Brown’s campaign emphasizes his military service and business experience, while criticizing Rosen’s support for President Joe Biden’s policies. He highlights his commitment to fighting for Nevadans’ values and prioritizing their needs over Washington, D.C.’s special interests in his announcement speech.

Sam Brown is a decorated combat veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 2005 to 2011. He received several awards for his bravery, including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, after sustaining severe burns in an explosion in Afghanistan in 2008.

Following his military service, Brown established a veterans’ advocacy group and a business providing medication to veterans. He also engages in motivational speaking.

Brown is the second Republican candidate to enter the Nevada Senate race. In the previous election, former state Attorney General Adam Laxalt lost to Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto in 2022.
