A gunman opened fire in a Philadelphia neighborhood on Monday, July 3, 2023, resulting in four deaths and two injuries, including two minors. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the Kingsessing neighborhood.
The victims were identified as Gregory Jackson (34), Alexis Quinn (27), Christopher Jones (22), and Brandon Dixon (19). Two minors, a 2-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, were injured and taken to a hospital. Both minors are now in stable condition.
After a brief chase, the suspect, who remains unidentified, was apprehended by the police. Upon arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a semiautomatic rifle, a handgun, body armor, and a police scanner.
The motive for the Philadelphia shooting is still being investigated, but authorities have stated that it does not appear to be a random act.
