Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill LGBTQ+ People at Nashville Pride Event


A Kansas man named Tyler Saltzman, 22, was arrested and charged with threatening to bomb the Nashville Pride event. The arrest took place in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 10, 2023, as stated by the Metro Nashville Police Department’s press release.

According to reports, Saltzman is accused of making threats through online posts before the Nashville Pride event. He allegedly stated intentions to “blow up” the Pride event and harm the attendees. These threats included hateful language targeting the LGBTQ+ community.


On June 10, 2023, the Metro Nashville Police Department received a tip regarding threats. Collaborating with the FBI, they successfully located and apprehended Saltzman.


Saltzman is currently facing charges for making terroristic threats and interfering with civil rights. He is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail located in Missouri.

The Nashville Pride event was held on June 11, 2023, without any incident.

Pride events have faced threats before. In 2016, a man was arrested for threatening to bomb San Francisco Pride. Similarly, in 2017, a man was arrested for threatening to shoot up the Orlando Pride event.
