Alen Stajcic’s Departure a Blow to Philippines Women’s Team

Alen Stajcic, the head coach of the Philippines women’s national football team, has announced that he will not be renewing his contract after the team’s exit from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Despite their disappointing performance in the tournament, Stajcic expressed pride in the team’s journey and stated that he is leaving on good terms.

During his tenure as head coach, Stajcic guided the Philippines to their historic first-ever World Cup appearance in 2023. However, their campaign ended with a bottom-place finish in their group, having suffered three losses. Despite this, he commended the team’s efforts and achievements throughout the qualifying stages and the World Cup.

In a heartfelt statement, Stajcic expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Philippines women’s national team. He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the players and staff, expressing confidence in the team’s potential to progress further in the coming years.

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) also extended their appreciation to Stajcic for his contributions and commitment to the team’s development. They assured fans that they would begin the process of finding a suitable replacement for the coaching position promptly.
