Google has announced that it will be shutting down its Album Archive feature on July 19, 2023. This means that users will no longer be able to access their photos and albums stored in Album Archive. If you have any data stored in Album Archive, you will need to back it up before July 19.

Here are a few ways to back up your Album Archive data:

  • Use Google Takeout: Google Takeout is a service that allows you to download a copy of your data from Google. This includes your photos, albums, and other content stored in Album Archive. To use Google Takeout, go to ** takeout.google.com** and sign in with your Google account. Then, select the “Album Archive” checkbox and click “Create archive.” Google will then create a zip file containing your Album Archive data. You can then download the zip file and save it to your computer.
  • Use a third-party backup service: There are a number of third-party backup services that you can use to back up your Album Archive data. These services typically offer more features and flexibility than Google Takeout. Some popular third-party backup services include Backblaze, Carbonite, and IDrive.
  • Transfer your data to another photo storage service: If you have another photo storage service, such as iCloud or Flickr, you can transfer your Album Archive data to that service. To do this, you will need to export your data from Album Archive and then import it into the other service.

Once you have backed up your Album Archive data, you can delete it from Google. To do this, go to photos.google.com and sign in with your Google account. Then, click the “Menu” button (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen. Select “Settings” and then “Manage Album Archive.” From here, you can select the albums that you want to delete and click “Delete.”

Google has stated that it will keep your Album Archive data for 60 days after it is deleted. After 60 days, your data will be permanently deleted.
