The tourist submarine, which is operated by OceanGate Expeditions, was carrying five people when it lost contact with its mothership on Monday morning. The submersible has enough oxygen to last for 96 hours, but that time is running out.

The United States Coast Guard, Canadian Coast Guard, and Royal Canadian Navy teams are actively searching the North Atlantic. The search is focused on an area located about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland. The search area presents significant challenges due to its depths reaching 13,000 feet.

The chances of finding the submarine and its crew alive are diminishing. However, the search teams are continuing their search efforts.

The families of the missing crew members have been informed of the situation. They are being kept updated on the progress of the search. The disappearance of the submarine serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with exploring the Titanic wreckage.
