Tovar’s Homer Leads Rockies to Comeback Win over Angels

The Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 on Sunday, June 26, 2023, in Denver. The win came one day after the Rockies were thumped by the Angels 25-1.

Ezequiel Tovar homered among his two hits. Austin Gomber pitched five solid innings. The Rockies beat the Angels. Justin Lawrence picked up his fourth save. It was a shaky ninth inning for Colorado.

The Rockies had lost four of their previous five games. However, they bounced back with a strong performance against the Angels. Tovar’s home run was his second of the season. Gomber allowed three runs and five hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked one.

The Angels took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. It was on a solo home run by Taylor Ward. The Rockies tied the game in the bottom of the inning. It was on a sacrifice fly by Brendan Rodgers.

Colorado took the lead for good in the third inning. It was on a two-run double by Tovar. The Rockies added another run in the fourth inning. It was on a sacrifice fly by Ryan McMahon.
