Increased Vigilance and Recent Incidents

The BSF has heightened its vigilance along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab due to a string of drone-related incidents. This recovery follows the recent shooting down of a Pakistani drone carrying narcotics near the Wagah-Attari international border on June 8.

Concerns over Smuggling and Border Security

Drones have become a preferred method for Pakistan to smuggle drugs, weapons, and ammunition into India. Both the BSF and Pakistan have deployed drones for surveillance and patrolling, raising concerns about the security of the border region.

BSF’s Countermeasures and Collaborative Efforts

To counter the drone threat and illegal activities, the Indian government has pledged to take necessary measures. The BSF has been employing its own drones to monitor the border and identify suspicious activities. Additionally, the Indian government has expressed its willingness to work with Pakistan to address the issue of drones along the border.
