Hsieh Su-wei Wins Fourth Wimbledon Doubles Title


Barbora Strycova and Hsieh Su-wei won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon 2023. They defeated Storm Sanders and Elise Mertens 7-5, 6-4.

This was Strycova’s second Wimbledon doubles title and her first since 2019.Hsieh Su-wei has now won four Wimbledon doubles titles.

Hsieh Su-wei is the oldest woman to win a Grand Slam doubles title since 2011.Before the tournament, Strycova announced her retirement after Wimbledon.This victory was a fitting end to her career.

Strycova expressed her “overwhelmed” feelings and called it “a dream come true” after the match.Hsieh and Strycova were dominant throughout the tournament, losing only one set on their way to the final.

In the final, they broke Sanders and Mertens twice during the second set, gaining control of the match.Hsieh and Strycova’s win elevated them to No. 2 in the world rankings.They are now aiming for further success at the US Open later this year.
