During the closing kilometers of stage 2, Kristen Faulkner was involved in a collision with another rider after their wheels touched, resulting in a hard fall. Despite managing to get back on her bike and complete the stage, her team has described her as “sore” and stated that they will assess her condition in the morning to determine if she can race in stage 3.

These crashes have dealt a significant blow to Faulkner’s ambitions of contending for the overall victory in the Tour de France Femmes. Instead, her focus must now shift to recovering from her injuries and hoping to remain competitive throughout the remaining stages of the race.
