Lisbon Prepares to Host 2025 Women’s Champions League Final

Lisbon has been selected as the host city for the 2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League final. The final will take place at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, which has a seating capacity of 50,000 spectators. This will be the second time Lisbon hosts the Women’s Champions League final, following the 2017 match between Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain.

UEFA made the announcement on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Among the other cities vying for the opportunity to host the final were Manchester, England; Turin, Italy; and Vienna, Austria.

Lisbon was chosen due to its impressive track record in organizing major sporting events. The city has previously hosted the UEFA Champions League final in 2004 and 2014, as well as the UEFA Euro final in 2004. Additionally, Lisbon is home to several prominent sports venues, including the Estadio da Luz, which serves as Benfica’s home stadium.

The 2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League final is scheduled to take place on either May 24 or 25, 2025. It will mark the culmination of the 2024-25 Women’s Champions League season, the competition’s 24th edition.
