The cyberattacks were carried out by a group of hackers known as Storm-1359. The group used a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack to overwhelm Microsoft’s servers. A DDoS attack is a type of cyberattack that floods a website or server with so much traffic that it becomes unavailable.

The cyberattacks affected a number of Microsoft services, including Teams, Outlook, and Azure. The outages lasted for several hours, and some users were unable to access their data or use the services.
