TikTok’s COO Steps Down as Company Transitions, Disney Veteran Joins as Chief Brand Officer

TikTok’s COO, V. Pappas, is stepping down after five years with the company, according to an email.

Pappas will take on an advisory role during the transition. Zenia Mucha, a former Disney executive, will join TikTok as chief brand and communications officer(TikTok’s COO).

Adam Presser, TikTok’s chief of staff, will oversee operations, content, and distribution. TikTok has faced global scrutiny over security concerns due to its Chinese ownership. New legislation was introduced to protect Americans’ user data from being used by U.S. adversaries.

TikTok sued Montana after it became the first state to ban the app state-wide.
