Inter Miami Reach Leagues Cup Final on Messi’s Long Range Goal

Lionel Messi, like a really great player, scored once again for Inter Miami. He’s been on fire recently, getting goals in six games straight for his new team. Even though he usually doesn’t score from really far, he surprised everyone this time against Philadelphia Union on Tuesday. Messi was one of the goal scorer guys as Inter Miami won 4-1 and got into the Leagues Cup final.

Messi’s goal made it nine goals in six games for him. Three more goals were made by Josef Martinez, Jordi Alba (who used to play with Messi in Barcelona), and David Ruiz. Philadelphia’s only goal was scored by Alejandro Bedoya.

The game started with a lot of drama when Miami took the lead just three minutes in. There was this long pass from Sergii Kryvtsov that caused some confusion in Philadelphia’s defense, and then Martinez took the ball and shot it past the goalie guy Andre Blake.

Philadelphia had some chances to tie up the score. This dude Daniel Gazdag had a big chance but he shot it right at Miami’s goalie kid Drake Callender. He had another chance but the ball missed the target thing.

Even though Philadelphia was trying really hard, Messi scored again. It happened because Damion Lowe messed up, and Martinez got away from him and gave the ball to Messi, who had lots of time to shoot from kinda far and he got it in the goal.

Right before halftime, Miami got another goal. Robert Taylor passed the ball to Jordi Alba, who finished the goal really well.

In the second half, Jakob Glesnes missed a good chance for Philadelphia. He kicked the ball over the bar from close by.

Philadelphia got another goal when Bedoya kicked the ball in from a corner kick. But then Miami scored again pretty fast with David Ruiz, and it was 4-1.
